Revstone, the parent company of Saleen Performance Vehicles, has announced plans to stop building performance-oriented Mustangs to focus on aftermarket parts.
While this is sad news, the company will end production of S302 in the third quarter of 2011. As we have previously reported, the S302 is based on the Mustang GT and features an aggressive body kit, a sport-tuned suspension, and a limited slip rear differential.
According to Bob LaCourciere, President of Revstone Aftermarket, "We feel it is time to retire the legend and to usher in a new era of performance. The teams responsible for engineering and development of Saleen bring a level of engineering prowess and passion that is second to none. We want to apply that same talent and dedication to second stage manufacturing."
