Porsche releases new Cajun details

Porsche has announced plans to build the new Cajun crossover in Leipzig, Germany.
As part of the gear up for production, the company will expand the factory and install a new assembly line and paint shop. Furthermore, Porsche estimates they will create at least one thousand new jobs.
According to Porsche CEO Matthias Müller, "During the production of the Cayenne and the Panamera, our Leipzig plant has impressively proved that it can produce premium vehicles of highest quality. The decision in favor of this location is proof of our trust in the skills and qualifications of our Leipzig associates, and at the same time another contribution to the economic advancement of the region."
As we have previously reported, the Cajun will be based on the Audi Q5 and feature a design influenced by Walter de' Silva. The model will likely be launched in 2014 and compete with the Mercedes GLK, BMW X3, and Land Rover Evoque.
