James Bond's 1964 Aston Martin DB5 fetches £2.6 million

RM Auctions, in association with Sotheby’s, has sold the James Bond’s gadget-packed 1964 Aston Martin DB5, driven by Sean Connery in Goldfinger and Thunderball, for a cool £2.6 million ($4.1 million) in London. Jerry Lee, the seller of the car, had bought it directly from the Aston Martin Lagonda factory for $12,000 in 1969. Harry Yeaggy, the winning bidder from America, is only the second ex-factory owner of the Bond’s ride. He said…
This is a car that I’ve always wanted, after all it is the most famous car in the world. My plan is to display it in my private car museum in Ohio just as it is.

The 1964 Aston Martin DB5 features revolving license plates, ejector seat and bulletproof shield. It c n still manage 145mph and 0-60mph in 7.1 seconds.
