Watching Paul Newman start and drive a 1914 Puegot at Indy? Awesome!
If you have Netflix you can do it instantly, or you can catch various clips on You Tube. Stick with the ones loaded by wintershollywood, they have the original audio ...
Once upon a Wheel, http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0413072/ a cool movie that Paul narrated, and got greasy wrenching on a 71 Super Bee, and takes a look at a lot of racing stars, the Unsers, Andrettis, Pettys, and so on. A lot of 1970 NASCAR footage, but also dragsters, snowmobiles and more.
Clips from early 1910 races, land speed racing on the sand and slat, Pikes Peak, Indy, and so on are amazing to watch while Paul talks you through the scenes.
Getting a moment on screen are such obscure and cool vehicles as Buckminster's Dymaxion, http://justacarguy.blogspot.com/2008/07/favorite-sculptor-of-mine-was-first-to.html and the Marmon Herrington Rhino: http://justacarguy.blogspot.com/2009/12/marmon-harrington-4-wheel-drive.html

Hooniverse love
Amazing, only 2 Dadge Daytona's are still in the possession of their original owners, here's one from Car Lust (cool website)
Once a long time ago, anyone could drive a car about anywhere without restriction.. think they ruined it for us?
You've probably read that Mercury has been phased out
But why is it that Pontiac being phased out caused such an uproar, and editorials, cover stories, etc etc etc... but no one is lamenting the Mercury becoming a has been. Why is that? What was the Pontiac name plate to GM, that the Mercury nameplate wasn't to Ford? Both were a bit more luxurious than the parent company name... both had a lot of terrible looking cars (Ventura for one) and both had a couple muscle cars of notable looks and reputation ( GTO, swiss cheese Catalina, Comet Cyclone, Cougar Eliminator)

Mercedes SLK undisguised
Gotcha! Here are the best pictures yet of Mercedes’ next SLK. Spied testing in Germany, these latest shots reveal almost every detail of the newcomer’s styling.
Penned by design boss Gorden Wagener, the SLK refines the successful two-door folding metal hardtop bodystyle that debuted way back in 1997. The all-new third generation car gets a prominent nose that’s clearly inspired by Mercedes’ range-topping SLS AMG supercar, while the swept-back headlights owe much to the latest CLS that will debut at the Paris Motor Show.
In profile, the SLK looks very similar to its predecessor, albeit with a new crease which runs from the front wing indicator back into the doors to add a little extra visual drama. Once again, the SLK features a two-piece retractable roof .
At the rear, the SLK features an angular bootlid, which is similar to that sported by the current E-Class Coupe, flanked by LED taillights. The newcomer also gets trapezoidal exhaust pipe tips.
On the inside, the design will be influenced by the SLS. A minimalist design and retro air vents are likely to feature, along with the firm’s clever AirScarf neck warmers built into the seats.
Under the bonnet, the SLK gets a new range of engines. The entry level SLK200 will get the 201bhp 1.8-litre CGI petrol, while the convertible gets diesel power for the first time, courtesy of the 201bhp 2.4-litre CDI unit from the E-Class.
The 300 V6 model is discontinued, but the SLK350 gains the revised 302bhp direct injection V-Series 3.5-litre V6. A performance version is likely to be offered, which may be powered by AMG's hotly anticipated twin-turbo 3.5-litre V6 which produces around 465bhp.

Citroen DS4 revealed
If you thought the new Citroen C4 was awfully staid, here is the bubbly, fun-loving high-fiving sibling: the new DS4.
A taller, wider and squatter version of the C4, the new DS4 is a funky five-door which picks up the zesty baton from the fizzy DS3.
Sticking closely to the looks of the High Rider concept we saw a while ago, the DS4 certainly looks distinctive - that aggressive face reminiscent of the Revolte concept, chrome detailing, a buxom rear and ‘taut' roofline tapering into a spoiler.
This premium air of ‘I-am-cooler-than-thou' extends inside too, with chrome-detailing, high-quality materials and a panoramic windscreen offering up to 45 degrees of upward vision. The seats are offered with a massaging function and there's even a range of polyphonic sounds to choose from (including something called ‘Jungle Fantasy').
You also get aluminium pedals, ambient lighting and five leather combinations to complete your very own disco-chic boudoir.
The DS4 will be launched with five engines - two HDi diesels (110 and 160bhp), and three petrols, which consist of a VTi 120, THP 155 and the 1.6-litre THP 200, jointly developed with BMW.
There is some practicality to match the nightclub looks - Citroen tells us you get three ‘full size rear seats' and 370-litres of boot-space, along with loads of cubby holes and storage areas to lose your Red Bulls in.
The DS4 will make its public debut at the Paris Motor Show, so we'll update with more details. Whaddya think?

New Lotus Evora S
This, ladies and gentlemen, is the Lotus Evora S; a faster, lairier, more sideways version of Hethel's most excellent sports coupe.
Addressing a tiny bugbear we've had for some time on the Evora, the S gets a supercharger strapped to its 3.5-litre Toyota V6 loins, upping power to a rather righteous 345bhp and 295lb ft of torque...and finally into genuine sportscar country.
The 0-62mph dash now takes 4.6s (4.9s for the standard car), while top speed rises 10mph to 172mph.
The sideways-ness comes courtesy of revised traction control settings, allowing more drift before the system intervenes. You even get more ‘grrr' with the S, thanks to an exhaust bypass valve courtesy of the standard fit sports pack, which also improves throttle response.
The Evora S gets revised suspension settings, a larger rear diffuser and cross-drilled brakes to deal with the added grunt under the bonnet, while Lotus is - unusually - also offering a paddle-shift auto for the standard Evora.
Still want that Cayman?

The winner of the 1907 Paris to Peking endurance race
The 1907 ITALA mod. 35/45 HP won the prize of a magnum of Mumm champagne. The race went without any assistance through country where there were no roads or road-maps. For the race, camels carrying fuel left Peking and set up at stations along the route to give fuel to the racers. The race followed a telegraph route so that the race was well covered in newspapers at the time. Each car had one journalist as a passenger, with the journalists sending stories from the telegraph stations regularly through the race.
The 9,300 mile race was kicked off by a challenge by a newspaper "What needs to be proved today is that as long as a man has a car, he can do anything and go anywhere. Is there anyone who will undertake to travel this summer from Peking to Paris by automobile?"
It was held during a time when cars were fairly new, and went through remote areas of Asia where people were not familiar with motor travel. The route between Peking and Lake Baikal had only previously been attempted on horseback. The race was won by Italian Prince Scipione Borghese of the Borghese family, accompanied by the journalist Luigi Barzini, Sr. He was confident and had even taken a detour from Moscow to St Petersburg for a dinner which was held for the team, and afterwards headed back to Moscow and rejoined the race. The event was not intended to be a race or competition, but quickly became one due to its pioneering nature and the technical superiority of the Italians' car driven by Count Scipione Borghese, winning by three weeks. These sporting successes helped sales dramatically, the company continued to grow. The company experimented with a range of novel engines such as variable stroke, sleeve valve, and "Avalve" rotary types
